we just put a gt spec header and up pipe on my friends 05 sti , and he has a helix dp and hks carbon ti exhuast and also a hks short ram . Now his car bones out

 

why did you change the u/p? the sti's u/p comes catless.

I think he meant it is fast now? I was also wondering about the need to put un uppipe on an STi since the STi uppipe is catless? Are you gaining anything by replacing it?

he replaced the uppipe becuase he bought a gtspec header and it came with upipe and if u look at them the header wont bolt up to the stock uppipe becuase its 3 bolt instead of 2 like the stocker

 

yeah you have to use the GT-Spec up pipe, and also even though the STI up-pipe is catless its not nearly what I would consider very conductive to high flow, its a bit of a mess in there with some funky ridges that stick right into the exhaust flow

 

yeah this guy sounds like he could really use a tune!
