mods vs warrenty
mods vs warrenty
Hey guys, i just bought a black wrx 06 impreza limited ed. with leather seats, its really sweet. This is my first awd/turbo/boxer car i bought and im excited to perform and play around with it. I almost got 1k on it and plan to mod it a lil.
I been reading the forum lately and it seems alot of people recommend the cobb AP as my first mod, as well as getting a downpipe. I was wondering if i do mod those would my warrenty be void? And could i install it myself or do i have to visit a tuner? I dont plan to beef it too much but enough to have little bit more power., however, I just currently bought a 2year extend warrenty with my subie. But i want at least 300 horses (not wheels).
Also same questions with the suspension. warrenty be void? any suggestion on good suspensions/do's and dont's?
Thanks a lot for your time and comments. I look forward to modding my subie. If any suggestions please tell me!

NO, legally, dealerships cannot void your warranty because of modifications. They can deny service at that particular time and attribute it to your mods though. Anyways you live near the Bay Area, and I know for sure that Subaru/Mazda in Concord (20 minutes from hayward) will not deny service work to your car even if you had tons of modifications. Trust me. I have taken my Subaru and Mazda there over 50 times with turboback exhaust etc... and not one complaint.

If you pop your engine with an aftermarket downpipe and an AP changing factory specs you WILL NOT be covered. YOU will pay the bill. Clear? If you blow out a strut with an aftermarket downpipe and AP you WILL be covered. THEY will pay the bill. Clear?
