this seems cool except it looks ghetto. maybe if it was painted black it wouldn't stand out as much

Looks like it works, but it would probably be better not to shove it in the intake box if you live in rainy areas. I'm sure if you at least keep a little gap, colder air will be able to get in but water won't be sucked up in case of an "accident".

Nice mod. fog covers probably work ok to cover that up a lil bit

This may look really "fugly",..but I must agree with 500hp..com that it indeed does reduce air intake temperatures,..You could probably look for nicer black ducting like they use in racing that some use that go directy to brake rotors or some "marine" applications,..but the Home Depot way is cheaper,..just paint it black,..

I did this mod with a 90 Mitsu GSX I had before and checked air temps with a datalogger,..not only was air temps lower, but it had an effect on timing as well with the denser cooler air instead or ambient air temps,..

Ex. driving thru stop and go traffic, then cooler direct air when up to speed,..or more Ram air effect on freeway,..

BTW,..any noticeable "sound" difference??

looks like a slinky....i thought air temp didn't matter since it's going into a hot-*** turbo

I thought so too, but somehow the computer stilll sees at as the MAF sensor is after the filter. I saw the difference on the datalogger on my GSX too and there was much less timing retard going hard on the throttle,..
