Just bought sti TMIC

I just bought one used from a guy for 200 bucks, its in great condition. It came with the y pipe, and he said I might need to buy a silicone pipe or something? Ive seen the samco hoses and those are about 150, I was hoping there would be something cheaper than that. Well that was one of my questions.

2. Is it ok to run the sti intercooler on a stock wrx turbo? Will there be decreased performance, more lag with the new intercooler setup?

3. Do I need to get an sti splitter? I have heard things that the intercooler wont fit in the wrx unless you have the sti splitter. I dont know if this is true or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Take care.

The stock STI y-pipe doesnt fit the wrx with a STI tmic, you need a longer one. I'll ask where my friend got his, it was 40$. You can run the stock turbo but I strongly recommend getting a pro-tune right after putting ithe TMIC on. You don't need the STI splitter but it might make a lil difference.... Hope that helps

check this thread http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=952204

You can get replacement hoses for cheaper than samco. Followed the members advice and everything worked out fine.

yah this all helps a lot, thank you all very much. I am still a little confused so I am still reading and re-reading that thread. Seeing as he did it on an 02, there will be some minor differences seeing as I have an 06.
