The US STi manifold is the same as the WRX, but the JDM one is different. It has no TGV valves. However, removing your TGVs will require that you either do some creative wiring to convice the ECU that they're still there, or go to an aftermarket engine management solution. You don't need to replace your manifold for any reason but to remove the TGVs.

Yes the APS ones for the WRX and the STI are the same, though the stock Mani flows very well, As BAN mentioned you can either run TGV deletes or a V8 manifold if your looking for better flow, though I know alot of STIs making alot of power with the stock mani and TGVs
