Just bringing this back for a quick question.

When I get a TBE and short ram intake, will I need to run an AP Stage 1 first, or can I go straight to Stage 2.

That's all. (:

Nevermind. I've stumbled across Unabomber's Manifesto.

I think this is all I'll ever need for basic newbie tuning.

Just a link to it for anyone who is interested,

In terms of TBE. I have an APS full TBE. This is one of the nicest TBE exhausts available for the WRX. The sound is amazing build quality, as with everything APS, is top notch. Fitment is as good as OEM. This is what APS does. Intakes may or may not be necessary. If your set on putting in an intake, hands down the best intake system available is the SPT intake. The advantages of going this route are; OEM performance division, Maintain factory warranty, Carb cert, great fitment, and the sound... It seems to suck in the Ozone layer. I would seriously consider the AccessPort and a protune. The stock ECU is programmed with a blip that delays the open/closed loop function of the fuel delivery system, causing a lean condition. This leads to premature engine failure. My first motor went out for this exact reason at 23,000miles. No dealer warranty was honored. Becareful when you begin modding.

Thanks for the input! I was looking at the APS TBE. I like it, and it sounds very nice.

I'm definitely buying a AP 2 with my TBE and intake. No doubt about that. I've read the failure horror stories and to not protune with an AP would be a crime to my car and the mods I installed. (:
