HKS Hi-Power Vs. GREDDY EVO2????
HKS Hi-Power Vs. GREDDY EVO2????
I have a dude wanting to trade his HKS Hi-power Catback for something quieter and i was thinking of trading him my GREDDY EVO2 since i kinda want something louder. Should i do it? Why or why not?
my pros and cons:
PROS:
I get a little louder CBE
HKS is more straight through = less restriction
CONS:
I lose my quiet CBE
HKS is more flashy = cop attention and ricer attention.
so i cant decide. Plus my EVO2 is worth alittle more the the HKS.... IDK.

You decision might depend on what other modifications you are running on your car. I had HKS on my car for about a year before swapping it out. With stock everything and only the HKS I actually really liked its loudness, burble and racy sound at the top end...but when I got the intake, downpipe, uppipe, turbo porting, etc it got progressively louder to a point where I did not care for it as much anymore...One other thing you can do is spray paint the can and tip flat black to take away some of the flash...But exhausts are one of the things where sometimes it is really the matter of personal tastes
Thanks for the opinion's!
My car is pretty stock. Just AP stage 1 with a CBE..... so no major mods to speak of. it would be more of a in the meantime exhaust til i get my cobb TBE and VF22 in a few months....

I've had both exhausts, and I like the Hks more. The greddy cbe is a tad heavier (about 7 lbs difference) than the hks as well.
As for me, in the beginning I wanted a quiet catback since I was concerned about attention and cops as well, so I started out with the greddy evo. It was nice, but I started wanting it louder after a couple months. So I went with the hks. It's not obnoxiously loud, and with just the catback only and everything else stock, it is still legal and under 95dB. If u were just to swap out the catback, and your car is otherwise stock, the sound increase is louder but not by very much.
