headers for 06 sti

i need some insight on some headers, whats good? whats bad? which i highly doubt that there is any header out there that is bad. but what do you guys recommend. i already have a blitz nur spec r, perrin dp, cobb ap. now i was thinking about getting the perrin uppipe along with the greddy headers or just a header with a built in uppipe. very undecisive here. GT spec gen II? greddy header? or does anybody out there who has these products that can tell me otherwise?

Thumbs up

APS makes a super nice set of headers, i want them but they are pricey... its a set of equall length headters that gives u that high end hp with out getting rid of the low tq... it actually gives u 30 tq at around 3500 and 30 hp around 6500. if u want the best then i would go with these

Hello,

There are definitely some bad headers out there that don't make power or that have severe fitment problems or leak or crack, etc. If you go with a header that has an integrated uppipe, you may have to lift the engine to install it. Some people will recommend simply PnPing your stock headers and changing the cross pipe. Also, it's a good idea to coat your header but not so good to wrap it (because the wrapping can absorb oil or coolant and catch on fire).

Obviously, we are big fans of the Gruppe-S Headers because they're great quality, cheap, and they are proven to make power. They're very similar to the GT Spec headers. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact us.

Thanks,

Geoff

You dont need a new uppipe for your sti, the stock one is already catless.

You will get better spool and maybe even a bit more power with an aftermarket unit though.

Thanks,

Geoff

Are aftermarket ones bigger in diameter?
