I was curious what mods i should put on my 06 STI first? I am eventually going to go bigger turbo and FMIC. Just wondering where I should start and what parts are the best. Thanks

You can start with a turbo back exhaust and engine management (Cobb AP, ECUtek, etc.).

Yes I thought of getting the Cobb Stage 2 kit w/ TBE and access port. but with the access port will I be able to keep using it to tune my car when i go to upgrade the turbo?

Please rethink the warranty, EXPERIENCED ENGINE BLOWER

I recently started getting rod knock and bearing failure due to over tuning and low oil. When I went to the dealer to get serviced, they told me that it'll cost me about $4k to fix since there was no warranty. This was on an '03 WRX now. They noticed a boost controller and TBE system and reported both the SOA, and now I'm a SSOB.

It wasn't really worth it.

I thought I could get away with tuning this car. This is engine in nothing like a VW engine. Those things are bulletproof.

IMHO...

^ one thing you must understand is bad tuning leads to bad engines, good tunings will in most cases make your engine run better. and if you were taking your car in for warranty...why did you leave the stuff on?!?!?!

use mods that can be removed, such as ecu retune instead of drilling and wiring a boost controller
