I really like the Borla Hush exhaust, and I will get one when I get a DP with a high-flow cat.
I never thought the twin-tip look was cool on the STi though, and I checked with MPJ performance, and they told me it only came with the twin-tips.
I just checked Borla's website, and here it is!
Also, unlike the original hush, it has no resonator.

i've installed a xr-1 for someone before and for the wrx its just like the one pictured above. It sounds pretty similiar to the hush but is maybe a little bit more raspy. Also its single tip as you can see....

what you have pictures there, Dahveed, is the XR-1. I have it on my car. It is much raspier than the Hush and MUCH louder.-Chris

That is the Borla XR1 which is named that way due to it using their XR1 raceline series muffler and I can assure everyone that on a completely decatted setup this sounds nothing at all like the Hush which does indeed sound Hush (Sorry Chris but you must have heard one with a leak!)
This is one loud exhaust on a decatted setup unlike the Hush which sounds more on the Greddy Evo (old one) side of loud.
Something else to add, the XR1 unit has been out for about a year and can be purchased at www.mpjperformance.com as can the Hush.

Mike is the baffling different on the XR-1 than the Hush?
Or is just the absence of the resonator what makes it louder?

I've never liked the Greddy Evo due to fitment and quality issues that I've seen in person, and I like the hush, I just want to have it with a single tip.
I think when the time comes I'm just gonna get a hush and have an oval tip welded on in place of the twin tip.
Either that or I'm gonna put a resonator on the XR-1 if the can is no different, whichever is cheaper.

I would get the XR1 and add a lowback into it.
