Oh, I know that. The issue at that PSI isn't rods or cylinder walls, it is the head gasket. The boxer motor configuration makes for an unusually large surface area for the head and crankshaft/cam gaskets; you can blow them with stock PSI (and with the EJ25 Legacy block, with NO added PSI). It is absolutely awesome to have that kind of power out of the EJ25, killer job on that -- but driving it more than 1/4 mile at a time -- yow! :-)

Bah... I was running 30psi on a bone stock block and the head gasket held just fine

BTW, if you read the entire thread linked from here, there are some large discrepancies between the "comparison" and Al won't confirm or deny that he was running more boost with the HTA turbo. Take all this with a grain of salt.

Thanks

i was kinda getting that but i think the biggest comparison he was making was that the fp turbo has a bigger wheel and still spools the same as a gt35....
i think

Different fuel system, different boost levels, completely different weather... no real valid comparison there IMO. Also, if the bigger compressor wheel doesn't make significantly more power at the same boost level, what's the point of it being bigger?

I do not know what a crankshaft/cam gasket is.
