Did the same thing a while ago and used the Golan filter with the 3/8" barb fitting. Didn't know they came 5/16ths. Let's just say it won't be coming off the hose unless I cut the hose haha. Works great and have been on e85 for about 6 months. I used a hose clamp to secure the pump tothe bracket instead of a zip tie though. If you run e85 later on I would suggest you do the same. e85 might eat away the plastic zip tie.
