Compression Test Done.... is this bad?
#1 150
#2 150
#3 142
#4 150
the guys at Speed Element say it is still within spec, but im just wondering if there would be any significant damage down the line if I continue to mod?
oh and the car is a 04 STi with 38k miles.

yea Rob was telling me the #3 cylinder gets a lot hotter cuz of its location next to the turbo and thus gets more wear and tear than the others.
it originally was at 132 until Mike shot some oil into it and tinkered with it. now it is at 142. so im assuming there is something happening with the motor right now.

dont plan on being dumb, but i was planning on doing some track days/auto X. oh well, drive it till it blows i guess. no point in babying a car thats meant to be driven
But i will definately be keeping an eye on the motor.

Oil consumption (> 1 qt per oil change period, for example) is a better indicator that you're in serious trouble than a slight change in a compression test. Your mechanic was totally right about cylinder 3, it is the achilles' heel of all turbo boxers.

yea im not too worried about it as it is still in spec range, but oil consumption has been fine the whole time. change it regularly every 2500-3000
The compression improvement you saw after adding oil may indicate ring sealing issues. I'm just learning the boxer motor, but that's what it would mean in a V8 where the piston is more vertical.
I would have done a leak down test also. Oil consumption is normally piston/oil ring issue coupled with white smoke on exhaust. You could possibly leaking on the valve seat also which will not show this symptoms.
compression with a leaky valve seat wouldn't go up when you put a lil oil in the cylinder. the oil basicly creates a temporary seal around the piston rings (tests to see if there is a broken piston ring), causing the compression to go up. Burning of oil will create a blueish color smoke. white is associated with burning of coolant(i.e. blown head gasket).
