check engine light

Just curious, if you put a sp on an 2006 STI would it cause the check engine light to come on? and if does come on, how do you turn it off?

Ummm yes, you'll get a CEL, esp. w/o EM. You can reset your ecu, but it'll just come back.

What you mean by straight pipe? What portion? If midpipe, NO resonator, then you won't have CEL. Only when you have catless downpipe, it will trigger CEL.

Actually I bought the car with a downpipe, straight pipe, and exhaust. the car does not have the check engine light on, when i bought it. I just want to know how they turned it off with that set up. I am alson getting a up pipe soon for the car too. I am just too new to Suby. still learning the basic set up!

You already have a catless uppipe. Unless you are going with an EWG setup.

Just get a mechanical fix.

You probably have a form of EM for that setup. If you tune your car correctly, you shouldn't be throwing any CELs.

I'm catless and never heard of mech. CEL fix. As long as you have the right map on your car with your AP you're cool.
