check engine and flashing cruise light

about a month ago i put on an APS cold air intake and i got a check engine light and a flashing cruise light so i took off the map sensor plugged it back in and it no longer came up....now yesterday i went on a trip about 80 miles and then back and then i stopped to get a drink and left the car running and when i get back out i got the check engine and flashing cruise light again....and I tried doing the same thing with the sensor but it still comes up...can anyone help me out with what they think is wrong?

take off the CAI. the heat that it retains throws off the reading of the sensor causing you to run lean.

no, the map will stay on your ecu. any type of metalic intakes will retain heat. your sensor bolts to the metal of the intake. the sensor gets hot. this causes the car to cut fuel thinking the air is hotter than it really is.

CAI FTL= cold air intake for the loss as opposed to FTW(for the win). The Cobb short ram is one of the few that is compatable with your MAF unlike all the others.

you shouldt have a CAI, and you shouldnt have an intake with the AP unless youre protuned

stock airbox FTW unless youre pushing something like 400+HP

P 1071 means that you r system is too lean. It is the intake. Trust us on this one. Take it off and reset tyour ecu with the stock intake on the car. the light will go away and your car will be fine
