Back Fire

How do I reduce the back fire from my 07 STI? I'm running just a downpipe with no muffler or midpipe.

Soggy is right definitely reconnect your midpipe and muffler.
Your STi isn't going run correctly running just the downpipe
exposed like that it's a bad idea.If you want a loud exhaust note you should run a straight pipe all the way to the back of the car I agree on
that idea not mention you could be harassed by the pigs because
it is illegal to not have your exhaust go out through the back
of the car.

Okay I'll think about reconnecting the midpipe. But maybe not, I'm not worried about the Cops since we hung the muffler to give the effect that the system was intact. If it is going to physically effect my car then i'll fab something. I appreciate the post that weren't rude and welcome the advice from all. It would have been nice from those who were rude !#@holes to just give advice instead of acting like master racers and mechanics and writing silly a$# comments. Maybe some people want to try something different and not have that same Subaru rubble that comes with the stock headers or maybe some people want to have a load exhaust or some want a quiet exhaust. I'm not driving to go take pictures of geese flying away like in the Subaru commercial. That's why its called BOLT-ON, I can take it off and put it on whenever the Hell I want. So if you don't have anything positive or just HELPFUL tips or suggestions, please avoid my post, my name is pretty easy to remember. Thank you to those with positive advice and tips.

Dude, get a muffler. Running a straight pipe/open DP actually reduces your low end torque.

After that, get a tune and ditch the BOV if you have one.
