aps short ram problems

the aps pod wasn't compatible with the 06 sti as far as the mount bracket, it was useless. i had a guy make a custom mount for it, so then it was stable. when i got on it, it spool up and it lost its power. when switching to second, it bogged. while cruising and then getting on it, it felt like it wouldn't spool at all. did anyone have this problem?

Sounds like possibly you are getting an air leak??? If its bogging and your are loosing power most or some of the air is not being forced into the turbo. Does the APS Short ram have a mounting hole for your intake sensor?

yes it does for the maf sensor. two other holes not drilled all the way through though, thats for the bracket. the intake itself is good enough right. it doesn't need the inlet pipe correct? or does it? anybody?

Sounds like it is complete. And if you have checked for leaks, which im sure you have. I have a K & N Short ram intake on my 05 sti. I left the air duct and inlet elbow intact. When you say inlet is that what you are talking about? I think even if you left those off it should still work. It should be sucking air from somewhere. Unless the intake threw your computer off that much. Just double check all your work and if it persists get a tune!!!!!!!

Or you could do this:

Reset your ECU (Unhook battery positive for a minute or two, pump your brake pedal a few times, wait a few more minutes, and reconnect to battery)

That will reset your ECU and it will relearn everything. Give it a try.

Laterz,

E
