AP Live boost reading

Car Info: 06' Subaru IMPREZA WRX FP18g
AP Live boost reading
The instruction dont give much info on how to read live boost reading.
1. Does the car has to be running?
2. Do i hook up the AP b4 i start the car or after?
3. wats should be the target boost?
I know these probably been cover b4, i just cant find the right answer. If somebody has the patient to answer these question...I thank you very much

Car Info: '13 BRZ Limited / '02 WRX
1. car has to be on for the engine to create boost or vacuum
2. it doesnt matter
3. depends on what map and mods you are running, and on what car
to answer a future question, negative is vacuum and positive is boost.
