Confirmed. Your car has to be running. At idle, you'll get negative readings. After you step on the throttle, the readings will go from negative, to zero, to positive.

I don't remember what the max boost reading is on my '06 WRX because it's hard to drive WOT and look at the AP at the same time.

The order won't matter. Just today, I got a reading of around -10.1 or -10.2 at idle. I got a peak reading of high 14s, then it tapered around 12.

I have an '06 WRX as well on the Stage 1 CA map.

im think im not getting the target boost, i have somebody to hold my ap and ill drive and see wats the result. im aso getting -10.1 to -10.2 during idle, in idle if i press the gas and rev to close to red line i get around -9? is that normal, or i just need to drive it in WOT?

I imagine youre referring to free-revving the car... I don't think youd be buildng much boost, given that the engine is not under load, you need to do this while driving... or at least thats my guess.. besides free-revving is not healthy for the engine.... especially to redline man...

Okay....... Firrst off you will need to be driving. The freeway is the best place for WOT tests. Plug the AP into the car and just cruise and you'll see the reading go up and down depending on the throttle position. Then drop a gear and floor it and you should jump up fast and then tapper off. My sti hits about 17.5 before it starts coming down.
