16 psi

I just put on a Defi boost guage and got up to 16 psi on a stock 2006 wrx turbo. I am running a Helix turbo-back and stage 2 on the AP. Is that to much boost for that turbo?

no, not too much.....more important what does the AP live reading show for boost pressure? that is what the actual boost is, not what the gauge reads.

id be more worried about how the injectors are holding up and what duty cycle they are at when pushing enough fuel to feed twice as much as stock boost

That isn't too much but, that is good boost psi. on the
stock turbo with your mods. That boost gauge is probably
dead on accurate.

When you are WOT do you have consistent 16 psi or does it fluctuate?

read the map notes on cobbs page " target peak boost pressure is 15.2+- .07"
and like Testes1010 stated check what the AP live boost reading is then you will know.
as for dutie cycle 06 injectors can handel it, but it's the pump you have to worry about

The guage peak is between 17 and 17.5psi and the Cobb AP is from 15.7 to 16.2psi.
I also have a K&N intake and an STi TMIC so that may be why the boost is a little higher.

also, for the record, RedStage did about 90% of the work installing my guage.

WOT its pretty much staying between 16-17 depending on what gear I am in. that is on the guage, not the AP.

The turbo is the same the reason we boost less is due to the raise in compression ratio 2.5 runs 8:5.1 2.0 runs 8:0.1 I believe this was done to prevent knock and to get better torque
