Definitely check your oil levels, and your oil connection to and from the turbo, but it's unlikely that is the cause of your problem. I'm still digging, and if I learn anything I'll fill you in.

What does the smoke that is coming from around the turbo smell like? If it is oil, you will be able to tell. The only other thing that goes to the turbo is the coolant... You may want to check that too, since you will be down there anyway.

smoke smells like gas and oil, turbo checked out good so far, only minimal oil on the i/c side. BUT.......when i took of the i/c i noticed my BOV was missing to setting screws and was quite loose which could possibly be a large part of my problem. Im sure it is leaking air. Im gonna reset that with new screws and some thread lock tomorrow and see what happens.

Go in and have a Subaru dealer check your ignition coils. Utecs have a habit of burning out coils, which causes them to randomly misfire. Obviously this won't be covered under warranty with your mods, but it shouldn't take long to test for one specific problem rather than a general diagnosis. Translation- it should be cheap, like less than an hours' labor.

Or just check it yourself by pulling out the wires from the plugs, sticking a screwdriver in the wire, and putting it near a ground while turning over the starter. If you haven't checked this yet, it's definitely a good time to learn.

GOOD NEWS......................Uncle Scotty took care of me. Problem solved. New Plugs, new filter, cleaned MAF, fixed BOV, and added egt probe mod. Thanks for all the help!!!
