Whats Next??
I probabley sound foolish but I am not quite sure what to do next. My car has down pipe, up pipe, cat back, vf34, sti injectors, new fuel pump, fmic, and intake. What should I do next for performance? I was thinkin of doing some pulleys, but I'm not sure what to do. I got handed to by a tricked sti And I want to be a good competetor for him. What should I look into for more tork gain also? Thanks I am very thankful for any help.

a good 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, crank pulley, are something to consider. What do u mean by "Tricked" Sti ... if it has a bigger turbo than the vf39 .. like a FP Green ... dont even try to keep up with that thing with ur stock motor. your motor's open deck, piston's are weak ... just wont take the boost if you smack a bigger turbo on it.. the thing that matters a lot is tuning. If you can find a good tuner that can get you a really good street map. you should see respectable horsepower gains.

Also, a pulley will get you maybe 5hp. I had one back when I had my WRX wagon and my dyno results were identical with and without the pulley.

EJ20 is a partial open deck. Its not a true open deck. The stock internals can handle 400hp so I don't think you need the build up the bottom end for a while.
Headers loose low end torque but give you upper rpm horspower. Most headers will give you non to nominal gains. Most headers are designed for higher rpm engines. The euo-spec WRX/Sti can rev to 9000 rpm , in the US we can only go to 6500 rpm. The only gains you'll see from a header are from 6000 rpm and above and and that point you've topped out the engines rev band
I would go with a 6-speed tranny and EM if you don't have it
