stock... or go stock six speed. the discs are made by exedy and are plenty durable, and probably are safer for the tranny.

I am running the 5spd tranny with a 6spd flywheel, disc, pressure plate. Requires a little dremeling to the tranny bellhousing, but nothing major.

The 6spd assembly is noticably bigger/beefier than the 5spd assembly.

Although, I must say the ACT assembly for the 5 spds does feel quite nice. A friend of mine is running that with a best run of 12.5 @ 111.

I ran probably 150 passes on my stock WRX clutch, with a best run of 13.097 @ 103.11 (best sixty foot with that clutch was a 1.790)

Now with my new set-up (the 6 spd clutch assembly) I've posted a 12.4 @ 112 that with a 1.804 sixty foot.

Of course this is the same assembly the US STi uses and some of those guys have dipped into the 1.6s BONE stock! Its a good set-up.

I already have to baby my car because when i hit .5 bar the clutch starts to slip......I was thinking about a act street clutch or a spec stage 1 w/ the light weight pressure plate.

both my friend and I make over 300 whp.

My friend has been making over 300 ft/lbs of torque on an OEM clutch...

The ACT would cost a good bit more, but after driving his with it, I recommend it. Felt very nice... smooth solid engagement.

my car is right on 300WHP, and is on the stock clutch. I don't drag race or anything like that, so it doesn't take as much abuse as a lot of guys who take their cars to the track. So far, so good.

How did you get clutch chatter on a kevlar clutch disc? I was under the impression that with a kevlar disc that it wouldn't happen. What kind of flywheel are you using and how heavy is it? Oh and how long have you had your spec, and is it a nice everyday clutch?
