I just got the STi v6 type RA gears installed in my car this week by Gruppe-s, along with the Exedy Organic Sport Clutch, ACT Streetlite flywheel, and Kartboy shifter bushings...I'm going to pick it up today so I don't know how it drives, but I'm really excited!
I also have friends that are running ACT's HD clutch and they love it...nice upgrade from stock.
Check the reviews section on this forum, too. That helped in my decision.

nicce set up man! i going to be installing one in this weekend.... one of the i-clubbers vehicle....... what i would give to get a STI 6MT. i have heard most aftermarket clutches such as ACT craping out less than a year.... could it be cuz how they drive(spirit driving)? i have heard stories like the pressure plate weight coming loose and distroyed the bell housing. i dont really want to buy a new trans again. so i am going to do some more research. thanks for the info.

Most aftermaket clutches made for the street are meant to last every bit as long as the stock clutch, if not longer. They are usually capable of holding more power than the stocker, that's all. The only reason people wear them out earlier is either they didn't buy the right clutch for their needs (too much power for the clutch to handle) or from straight up abuse. I have heard a horror story here and there from ACT clutch owners, but I think every clutch brand has a horror story behind it. The reason I chose Exedy over ACT is because the Exedy brand, from what I've read, is supposed to be of higher quality. Who knows though, maybe I'm just buying 'the brand'. They were actually within 30 bucks of each other anyways. But I think they both make decent clutches. Good luck on the install!
