LOL I'm sorry guys I know you need a bigger IC and bigger fuel pump/rails/injectors engine MGMT, ETC.........I Figured that was a givin.......There are Alot of threads covering that.....I've heard that with the right tuning a VF22 can spool at like 3300rpm......If thats true then daily driving shouldn't be a big issue.....Now Actual lag I don't know about this turbo.........Maybe someone who has one could give us his 2 cents? What I was really thinking when I made this thread is I wanted some different opinions on turbos in the VF22 range I've heard SO many things about the IHI series of turbo and they sound great.........But I want to learn more about other options as well......My plans for my car are to get in the 300 to 350+whp range......It's gonna take time and ALOT of money on my part and I'm not rich.....Thats what I was thinking about the VF22 cause it is capable of thse kind of numbers.....I could be conservitive with it until I got the right Trans n diff(I really want a JDM 6spd).Then when all the pieces are there.... WAMMO no new turbo needed for light speed..............Geezus I talk to much.........heh.......

and it's good for 330-340 crank horsepower
hhmmm.........Well actually I was thinking more like 400-430 Crank HP..........I should of specified better..........I ment like 350 at the Wheels......I think that would be like close to 400+ at the crank right???I've heard the VF30-34 are really nice turbos........I really should ride in a Rex that has one to see how it feels....
I feel like a banana...............

A VF30 can make 400 at teh crank on race gas, but any turbo that makes 350 at the wheels on pump gas (and I don't think this is possible in CA with a 2.0 liter motor) would be very laggy and no fun to drive on the street.
350WHP is an awful lot of power on the stock block 2.0L engine. It would be much easier to do that on a 2.5L engine. That way, you can have the WHP, and have a half decent power curve.
For that much power on pump gas, you will need a 20G turbo or bigger. Only problem with this turbo on the 2.)L engine is that it spools up at much closer to 5K rpms, which leaves you with 2k rpms to play with.
The more WHp you hunt for, the less of a powerband you will get. That is just by virtue of the relatively small despalcement of the ej20

look,
BIG HP on pump gas = BIG turbo (20g, T67?) for going fast .01 percent of the time and a big headache 99.99 percent of the time
BIG HP on race gas = medium turbo (VF30, 18G, PE1818) for going fast .01 percent of the time (filling up with race gas) and pretty good drivability 99.99 percent of the time (on pump gas and an alternate fuel map)
You get what you pay for, all I can say, all anyone can say, you get what you pay for.
