Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

What is octane

Since a search on octane normally turns up incorrect or partially incorrect answers, plus people still post questions about octane boosters without a clear understanding of octane, he has found a good definition that will (hopefully) explain things to everyone.

The gasoline being tested is used in a test engine with variable compression raio. Higher compression ratios induce knocking, so the compression ratio is increased until knocking begins. Tables are available that show the percentage of isoocatne in an isooctane/heptane blend that begins to knock at any given compression ratio. The octane number is assigned to the gasoline is simply the percentage of isooctane in an isooctane/heptane mixture that begins to knock at the same compression ratio.
A theoretical tank of gas that is 100% n-heptane would have an octane of 0. Conversely, a tank of isooctane (2,2,3,-trimethylpentane) would have an octane rating of 100.

Full_Clip has lots of gas.
