what is the factory boost on a wrx??

dealer said 8-12 psi wtf. thats a wide range and sounds wrong.

That may be the brochure answer, but it actually varies widely from car to car and in different climate temps. Not a day goes by that I don't hit 14.2 PSI in my stock 02 WRX, and I've seen 14.5 and 14.7 pretty regularly if I'm driving in cool weather with the A/C off. Meanwhile, a friend of mine with a WRX a month younger than mine peaks out at 13.3.

+1. I should have said 13.5 psi is the target that Subaru shoots for.

What does it change to when you go catless? I'm seeing about 14~ psi right now regularly, and will be putting an HKS turbo-back on within a couple weeks.

Well im around 15psi with stock tune and a catless exhaust. When i was seeing less then that with my stock exhaust.

The customary gear for measuring boost is 3rd gear, same gear used on the dyno.
