cools down the turbo after you're done driving. it leaves the car on for a couple of seconds/minutes, so you wont have to stay in and wait.

only 02-03 stock turbos will need one, but you could get one if you want one?? haha

I'm pretty sure 02-03's are also coolant cooled...so they dont need TT's either. The turbo timer keeps the engine running so that the oil is pumped out of the turbo (no new oil will enter the turbo because its not doing anything). This keeps extra oil from sitting in the turbo and thickening. HOWEVER, that being said....WRX turbos are coolant cooled...not oil cooled

all stock turbo charged Subaru have both water & oil cooled turbos....no need for a TT on any of them....just a waste of money...

what he means is that when the car is running its oil cooled, and after that, it switches to water/coolant cooled. Kind of like a built in turbo timer effect

oh, I guess I misunderstood too originally. I was just trying to clear it up for the n00bs, but I guess I added confusion too

With todays modern oils and stuff... I was told that running the car for a minute or so as a cooldown is probably way more than sufficient.

We're not talkin about 80s and 70s stuff anymore
