I have a 04 WRX wagon. Whenever my car is in first gear and i'm at a complete stop, my car shakes when i initailly begin to move forward. You can also hear something rattling as the car moves forward. The sound comes from the front to maybe the mid point of the car.

I'm thinking it could be the Flywheel and it may need resurfacing, but then again...i'm not sure. So if anyone may have an idea of what i may be. Give me your 2 cents.

sounds like you could be right about the flywheel, not sure about the noise, maybe a heatsheid rattling? does the car still have the oem clutch in it? just asking because i've heard that a aftermarket performance clutch can "chatter" at take off. if your planing on getting the flywheel resurfaced, i would go ahead and get the whole clutch replaced while your in there, my 0.02 cents

I still has the OEM clutch on, but i don't think it's the hearshield because it's the whole car that shakes on the initial take off.

To be more exact, it shakes when i i let off the clutch and press down on the gas pedal.

I friend mentioned that it could be the flywheel, so i'll have to wait and see what others say.

 

I have crazy shatter! but I have a exeddy stage 3 clutch and flywheel setup. I got use to it and the only time it really sucks is when I am on a hill!
