what to do after turbo back..........

i have a2002 wrx with 38k on it and i have the following mods

hks up pipe
helix downpipe
hks hi power exhaust
rfl bov

i wanted to get a manual boost controller to get some more power out of thesemods but after posting i have realized that wouldnt be a good idea. i dont have the money for an engine managaement right now and i would like to finish mods before i get any kind of management. i dont know where to go next. should i save for a turbo?vf30 sounds so good? monster tdo4? headers? i dont know i want to get into the 13's and have about 200whp. i dont know what mods i need to acheive this.

An engine management might be the next step you should consider. It should hit the target your aiming for. An AccessPORT would be my choice if Iwas in your shoes.

It seem like you plan on upgrading your turbo in your future. By having an AP, not only it gives you substantial gains with the mods you currently have, it's also capable of storing a custom map for your future turbo by having it Protuned by an authorized tuner shop.

yeah you should get a cobb ap and get a tune. you can run their map and run 93 octane gas. even if you upgrade the turbo, it will still require you to get engine management.

with my set-up and an accessport at about 15-16 psi of boost where should that land me whp and 1/4 mile E/T. Am i gonna need a shop near by that deals with accessports? the closest subaru tuning shop i believe is going to start tuning them, but will i need a custom tune or will the map it comes with be able to work with my car. from my past with engine managements (hondas- Hondata and AFC's) i have always had to taske my car to a dyno to have a cutom tune done so that i know my exact car is perfect for the map i finish with. Will the accessport perform as good as a custom tune?

Custom tune will always be better, but the general maps still provide a large gain over stock or a modded car with no EM.

What he said and you can get a protune done w/ an accessport, you can have this done later on. So buy now and use given maps then get a protune later when available.
