Wastegate adjustment

mods on my 05 wrx are, catback, upipe, and cobb ap stg 1 ca.

i max boost about 11psi in 4-5th gear at about 85-90mph(according to my omori gauge AND live boost via my ap).

recently i adjusted the wastegate two full turns and i have seen no difference in boost levels.

can i safely adjust it anymore or should i bee looking elsewhere for this problem?

Well, did you try downloading the HWG map for stage 1 before adjusting the wastegate actuator? If not, you should've done that first to see if you will hit the targeted boost. 11psi is definitely lower than what a stock 05 WRX is boosting. As of adjusting the wastegate actuator, I wouldn't do it any further, it only work on certain extent and barely the solution. Wait for the ECU to completely learn the map. If things have not changed, then call Cobb to find out, or check for any possible leak.

This is what the notes have stated for stage 1...

"Target boost pressure is 14.7psi +/- 0.5psi depending on vehicle and conditions. If after 1-2 weeks worth of driving you are still unable to reach target boost pressures, you may try using the HWG version of this map."

Good luck!

i actuall did try the hwg map before the adjustment. the car did not pull as hard as the regular stg1 ca map, and boost level was a bit lower iirc. i tried it for maybe a day and switched back. do you really think the ecu would learn it better if i left it longer? also, i only had it as a real-time map and not base map. i am not sure if that would have made a difference.

The ECU is supposed to learn it after a week or two of driving... I'm only quoting what the note was saying. But I would wait until that time, just to be on the safe side. Instead of trying many different things that could possibly make things worse.

Try making it as your base map, then drive it for a week or 2. If things have not improved, try to talking to Cobb, they know better.

Keep us update.
