Wanted your opinion on a setup..
Hi guys, just wanted your opinion on a setup I am going with.
As of now my car is stock, but I went for this setup:
HKS carbon Ti exhaust
Hi-Flow Cat
Turbosx up pipe
Godspeed Downpipe
Injen CAI
HKS SSV BOV
just wanted to know if you guys like this setup, thanks.

Take the BOV and CAI off your list and replace them with something worthwhile like new tires or a reflash if you're not going to do anymore mods. The BOV and CAI together are not bad news per se, just not the way to go. Just have one of your friends stick his head out the window and yell "PFFFFFFTTTTTT"

well, there's many ideas about what the "best" are, I think it's been beaten to death, but most are aware that bellmouth or slightly divorced downpipes are where you want to be. The uppipe debate continues to rage on, coupled with the header side as well. But I usually refer to what the big guys have said. A header and an uppipe Will increase horsepower, there are always better ways to skin a cat i.e. thermal coatings or investment cast steel. Personally, I have a thermal coated Syms header with integrated uppipe and an Invidia turboback and have no complaints whatsoever.

I think everyone here will agree with punkrocksailor on the cai and bov. Instead of just geting the reflash you should buy the Accessport from Cobb it around $550, you dont have to send them your ecu and there is allot of cool stuff you can do with it.
Check it out http://cobbtuning.com/wrx/accessport.html

Personally George, I spent a lot of time getting my hands on the the parts I picked out for my car, I went over about 12 uppies with my hands and mind before I picked one, I went with the Perrin and have been nothing less than totally satisfied. Same with the Invidia Turboback. I think they both have quality materials, great welds, superior materials. The only uppipe that I can think will be better than the perrin is the investment cast one from Cobb, but that's not going to even be out for a while, so...
Everytime I see the HKS carbon/Ti I get kinda of queasy. It screams rice to me (why would you wrap SS in carbon fiber???)
It's all a matter of taste.

I agree with awns729 on the upipe because of the flex joint. Helix is also big enough to add a bigger turbo in the future (Im not sure about the others). What I want is a upipe with a flex joint (Helix) that has the same inside diamiter as the turbo inlet (TurboXS) for maximum velosity but the only one that I know of with both is the APS and its like $400 and Id much rather pay $200 for Helix even though I dont plan on upgradeing the turbo (never say never). Besides all of them are catless and I think thats what gives you most of your power so I dont see paying double for something that is going to give you just a little more.
Don't go the way of the CAI, I had mine and after all the hassles of trying to get it tuned right I am back to stock. I do dig the blow off valve though. Get a worth while one though, actually that goes for all parts, don't go on ebay and get the $20 dollar immitation. In the end you will hurt your engine. Skip the CAI and get a Cobb Access Port. Mine just got pre-ordered. Once you have all that you will want to start thinking about some suspension also. www.subarureview.com has some good stuff too.
