Vishnu or Individual Mods?

I was looking at getting a Turbo XS Turbo-Back Exhaust, Helix Uppipe and Cobb AccessPort (which all seem to be highly recommended by users), but then I noticed the Vishnu Stage Zero package. For less money, about $1k, I can get about the same performance, about 280hp, from Vishnu.

I know the above-mentioned components are awesome buys, but it looks like the Vishnu package gives you more bang for the buck. Which route would you guys go? Is there some other package that I might want to look at?

Thanks...you guys rock!

Personally, I'll be going with the Cobb AccessPort and sooner or later the downpipe. I like the AccessPort over a reflash because you don't have to send your ECU off and you can easily reprogram the AccesPort when you get more mods. Also I'd rather install a down pipe than a pulley.

HP figures are highly contested. You really should be dremling our your uppipe and downpipe, and getting a used custom flowmaster/borla exhaust. Deep V8 sound, and less than 100 dollars... I mean if you got the money for what you described you might as well do what I just described to you, plus buy STi injectors and a used VF30 turbo off an imported STi engine with low miles (just keep your eye out) and do the cobb stage III reflash.

verc, would dremling out the u/p and d/p and getting a custom flowmaster/borla exhaust be as effective as a turbo-back system? How hard are these exhausts to find?
Thanks for the input!

gutting out your uppipe and dp is the cheapest way of decatting your pipes.
i think what verc is implying that you can go cheaper if you go with individual piece with similar results.

Vishnu Stage Zero is a good set of mods (reflash, uppipe, pulley). The problem if you price out any further upgrades their reflashing cost ($175 + dynotime) becomes prohibitive. Plus his customer service is terrible. I like to ask a lot of dumb questions, and know that if i have a problem, someone will pick up the phone. I fear underdrive pulleys because of what I've read here about misfire CELs, etc.

Cobb's AccessECU Stage1 ($400, or $560 for accessport), and an uppipe (Gutted stocker = Free or <$50) will likely give you the same performance.

AccessECU Stage2 (same $400, plus a turboback, <$1000) would be my path. (it WAS my path). That way you can keep upgrading with Cobb's maps with no additional costs.

Good luck.

Another note...there is a local BAIC member selling a BRAND new TXS turboback (uninstalled, he just changed his mind), for like $900 or less. Check out the Bay Area Classifieds. It's been up for sale for a while.

enjoy.

Well, I think I will order the Cobb AccessPort since it is sooo versatile.

Now I just need to figure out if it's worth it to get the TXS Turboback over the "do-it-yourself" turboback!

Thanks again boys.

Most muffler shops will make one, or watch the Classifieds.
