vf34 with intake

hey guys im installing a vf34 turbo on my 03 wrx right now. what im installing includes: vf34 turbo, sti injectors, 255 pump, perrin TMIC, perrin turbo inlet hose, and an spt intake. I have heard that a lot of people stick with the stock airbox because it flows well enough. Even if there is no difference between the stock and spt performance, i'll probably install the spt intake for the sound and clean look when you pop the hood (no big black plastic intake scoop). Is there any reason i SHOULDNT install the spt intake???

If you want an SPT intake, then install it. It isn't bad for a hot air intake.

That being said, do you have a V2 Accessport? If so you could NOT install it, cruise around and watch the intake temp gauge on the AP, then install the SPT and do the same thing.

I'm running an spt intake with my vf-34. I have a very similar setup.
It runs just fine together.

Just run the stock since those SPT intakes aren't CARB legal.

problems? No, but it'll be sucking in hot air which isn't optimal for performance.

Also, you will need to get a custom tune as the OTS Cobb map (if you have an accessport) doesn't support any intakes (unless they've changed since I last looked).

mhmm last I heard they weren't being carb'd anymore. Guess i'm wrong there thank you.

But i'd still rather run the stock airbox than the SPT intake.

aftermarket intake is pointless unless your planning on going like 350whp+.. the aftermarket ones heat up faster and take longer to cool down.
