Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

VF34 install

Hey, just finished the first part of my vf34+660 inj + 255 fp. Installed the injectors that are longer then the stock ones so i don't even know if they are installed properly. The back injectors wiggle a bit but i noticed that the stock ones did the same thing. Is that normal? Then i removed the stock turbo but spilled some coolant down the up-pipe. I used some paper towels and a long screwdriver to soak it up as best i can. Will this be a problem or will it evaporate?

I would suggest you crack open the flange at the bottom of the uppipe (or wherever the low spot is) and let the coolant drain out - it does not evaporate very well.

As for the injectors, the stock ones spin, but without looking at it I can't tell you for certain if they're okay. What I always do when working on the fuel system is turn the key forward without starting the car (so that the fuel pump starts) and check for leaks at the injectors themselves. Don't actually start the car until you are 100% certain they are not leaking. Keep a fire extinguisher close by just in case.

Thanks for the tip about the injectors it really helped out. Car started up . Ran a bit lean so i added some fuel. Car runs really smooth and boosts really well when in gear but when i shift the car under 3000 rpm it bogs bad. Probably just needs some tunning and there is a slight exhaust leak between the turbo and up-pipe. One question though. How can i tell if my new turbo is getting oil? I know the car is getting coolant because its not overheating.

If it's not getting oil, it will burn out very quickly (within a matter of 100 miles). So if it didn't burn already, it's probably getting oil.
