vf34 install
I'm so freaking happy, i just installed my vf34, Sti injectors, and walbro fuel pump. i'm just waiting to get it dyno tuned now
. Man those green brackets of doom were pretty damn ghayyyy. and which ever thread that said you can take it off and just leave em off were soo wrong ... *sigh* i'm glad that's over, tho next time if i were to do this again, i woulda just installed the turbo and fuel pump and let the shop do the injectors cause they are a PITA! .. oh and total install hour for me is about 5 hours (that's with a trip to Jack in the crack for some food) and this was done from 3 am to 8 am
edit: forgot to mention i had 2 of my friens to help me, tho one was a sleep for most of it so really just one ><

i got the vf34 package at gruppe-s, after tax it was 1320. and yup yup, tomorrow i'm getting it tuned, the scariest part was the first time i started my car after the install, there were helllla smoke coming from the turbo area and i was like OHHH **** ... buh after smelling the smoke, it was only coolant so phew
Turbo: $700
STI pink 565 injectors: $425
Walbro 255 fuel pump: $80
Learning more about your car: Priceless
edit: oh and there were no shipping costs added into the package since i picked it up

you can leave the green brackets off.... only thing that needs to be done is to either remove the hard breather line off the driver side bracket or just get a straight connector to connect those lines.

You don't need lines. Just cut that bracket apart and connect the hose from the IC to wherever. I put clamps on mine since it seems pretty loose...
Heh I'm doing the same as you, with some setback

vf30 turbo - 375
fuel pump - 100
Broken modified injectors - free
new injectors to try again - 100, lol

thx dude. I'm running a Helix up and down pipe, Borla cat back, and i also have a perrin lightened crank pulley. I'm pulling 252 whp at 6500 rpm and 235 torque at 5000 rpm. When the car was dynoed i didn't bleed my coolant lines and since i lost a lot of coolant when i installed the turbo, there were tons of air bubbles in the car. When it was tuned it was running around 80-99 degrees celsius so i think my numbers should be a little higher if it were running under normal conditions. I have one question right now, what spark plugs should i get, cause i was told by mike at gruppe-s to run one step colder. What do you guys recommend
thanks guys.
