that's the exact set-up i'm getting in a few months. this might be helpful to me as well..

as for the accessport, just run weak and it should be more reliable. haha.

If you are using Cobb Tuning's off-the-shelf maps for the AccessPort, do not deviate from their mod requirements unless you have contacted them for information. Depending on the changes you make, your engine could either run lean in a certain RPM range or actually lose power. If you're lucky, Cobb may have a custom map tuned to your mods.

That's the only drawback to using off-the-shelf maps for the EcuTek or AccessECU/Port - deviating from the recommended mods can be a little risky. A custom dyno tune and reflash costs more but takes into account every mod on your car.

As far as the VF30 or VF34 as a daily driver, I know of people who use those turbos in their daily drivers and they say it is a completely streetable combination. These turbo setups are not considered 'big' turbo upgrades which is what makes them not seem laggy when properly tuned. One local gentleman even runs this turbo on his 4EAT and has had a custom dyno tune and EcuTek reflash and the car runs strong.

that would be me. my car's driveability is improved over stock in every way with the VF34 and supporting mods.

ECUTEK > Accessport. IMO. Most of the people I know who bought Accessports are now selling them to get a reflash.

why? The accessport is similar to a reflash.

the only reason I can really think of is that there isn't a tuning solution out yet for the AP's. So unless you're using something that cobb has mad a map for, you're out of luck.

Cobb stage 2.5 (TBE, VF34, STi injectors, fuel pump)...with an uppipe if you want, makes a safe, reliable daily driver. Stage 3 (which will probably be a stage 2.5 w/larger intercooler...probably top mount) should also be pretty daily-driver friendly. However, if ~330 crnk HP isn't enough and you start tweaking the maps/adding other mods to that you could be sacraficing reliability.
