uppipe. adds more power than a downpipe, cheaper than the downpipe. If you get the downpipe first, you'll have to remove it to install the uppipe (not a big deal but it has to be done)

Doesn't the downpipe add more power?

don't waste your $ with HKS down pipe, you won't get the same amount of gains

i say save your $, and buy both at the same time

Buying an uppipe is cheaper than buying a decent downpipe, if you do your own work (or have friends that will). But an uppipe + labor is more than a downpipe + labor in most cases. Poerwise, you'll see slightly bigger gains with the downpipe, but it won't spool as fast as doing the uppipe would. Either option will make more power and spool faster than what you have now however.

I would also have to say, save your money and do both at the same time. As most people have said, the downpipe will give you more power, while the uppipe will provide quicker spool. Personally, I have the helix up/down pipes, great fit and finish and gruppe-s provides a cel fix with the downpipe. If you can do the install yourself or find someone to help it will save you mucho dinero, since install of the uppipe takes quite some time, but really isn't that difficult. That was the first thing I did on my car and it took me 1 weekend.

I would go with downpipe first. Cobb posted at their forums that the uppipe doesn't really see big gains which is why their stage 2 doesn't require it.. usually around 6-8hp but like many say... you do get faster spool.

With a Catless Downpipe and a good Axle back tied to it... usually people see +15-20hp, faster spool and the option to flash to a Stage 2 Cobb ECU.

So get the downpipe if your limited to just one

about the downpipe first idea...isnt there some rumor about the cat in the uppipe breaking apart and sucking into the turbo? I just went the safe route and bought the up/down at the same time.

heix up/down combo was on sale for less than $500 from www.gruppe-s.com
