I have a 2004 wrx and I'm looking for a catless up pipe.
I know that the 2006 - 2007 up pipe is catless, but I was wondering if:

1. Would an 06-07 up pipe fit onto an 04?
2. Is a stock catless up pipe from an 06-07 like an aftermarket catless up pipe?
3. Should I buy an aftermarket or an 06-07 stock up pipe?

u sure 06/07 is catless? i thought only the STi's had catless up pipe.... i could be wrong tho

but, for a 06-07 to perform like an aftermarket, it needs to be gutted?

 

i dont think it needs to be gutted, you can just gut your wrx uppipe

You could always gut your stock uppipe, I've got a gutted up from an 02 on my car. Passed smog with the gutted up and a Borla header 6 months ago.

 

Is it hard to gut?
