both stomrung and bosal make twin dump downpipes that retain the third cat.........I went with the bosal because it rejoins further down than the stromung does. Can't say if it passes visual (I do have the stock mid-pipe) but it was the best compromise for me.

visual is no problem at all.
I went by a place where they do testing and one of their testers came out to look at my car, he had never seen a wrx before under the hood, and was quite impressed.
you just have to find the guys that don't know their head from the hole they have stuck it in.
