Turbo's and wrx
I have a 2002 wrx automatic transmission. Have anyone ever changed the turbo on them? If you did which turbo did you use and how did it perform?
I plan to try a VF37 from a 2003 STI.
Any suggestions.

I agree that the vf35 would be your best bet with a port and polish to help it spool up even faster. Another option is a 16g with a portand polish which claim to spool almost just as fast as stock but won't quite get the top end of a vf35.
with a vf37, you'll need the header/up pipe as well as the downpipe. the vf37 is a twin scroll turbo; meaning it uses different flanges over your stock turbo. if you get a vf35 you will still need some sort of engine/fuel management.

i'm running a vf34 with my automatic wrx. the car is much better than stock. the VF35 i believe won't make as much top end power as a vf34, but spools quicker. upgrading the torque converter makes a big difference, but I have yet to do that. check out www.projectwrx.com for some good writeups on how to mod an automatic wrx.
