Question Turbo XS type H

I've been doing some research on which BOV to get. I have a 2004 wrx and I'm trying to find something original that no one here has. A lot of peeps are running the HKS SSBOV, Blitz DD, go fast bits 50/50, and Turbo XS RFL's. I was on www.blowoffvalves.com, when I came across the Type H. I watched the video clip that showed a WRX revving out with the Type H. It looked crazy and sounded even crazier!! I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this BOV or knows anyone using it? Pros/cons? I've heard a lot of horror stories about the turbo XS RFL's pistons siezing up and stuff, so just the name Turbo XS is kinda sketchy for me. Any help greatly appreciated.

honestly, i would just save the money and get something else. I've had the RFL before and it makes the car "pop" like crazy when running catless as the bov makes the MAF sensor read all funky.

I've heard the Type-H in person, and it's a nice sound to it. Same sound with the RFL almost, except the RFL has somewhat of a pitch to it and i wasn't able to notice this with the type-h while sitting in the cabin of car. Search for some used ones if you wanna test it out, and good luck.

I like the RFL a lot better. If you want to go with something that not a lotta people have, HKS and Blitz are NOT the way to go *CHIRP!* Try to find a SARD, or something.

thanks for the replies. I was also thinking about the apexi twin chamber bov, which you can turn the collar for 3 different sounds. Anyone heard/used this one?

i know the popping you are talking about, but i wonder how bad it can be for your car

i am running catless and currently have a gfb bov but im looking for something louder, but if the popping will hurt my car, then i wont

your thoughts?

thanks

The type H is just fine. Understand that an atmo BOV will cause richness, obviously after you let off the accel and push in the clutch.

I bought mine to combat after-shift leanness and it worked, but hated the annoying sound. They are so expensive and on a mildly modified car, are actually not very beneficial. The expense of an aftermarket BOV could be put to much better use towards something that actually makes you go faster.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I understand that I could spend the cash on something else, but for now I've got all I really need. 2004 wrx=Hks carbon-ti exhaust, helix down pipe, gt spec headers/up pipe, full chargespeed body kit, tanabe sustec gf210 lowering springs, rays g-games 18x7.5 wheels, kyb agx adjustable shocks, sparco seats, etc. Where I'm at, there are so much wrx's showing up, that i just need a lil' somethin, somethin to differenciate myself more from the crowd.

haha, i find that to be the opposite from where i live. A bov is the LAST thing that will "differentiate" my wrx from another wrx's.
