How is everyday driveability with that system(with and without the up pipe)? What does it sound like at idle, 3000rpm, and WOT? I'm looking at the same set up with hi-flo cat but I don't want to go def.

Silver...

A couple of things about the turbo xs muffler. It is important to understand that is not a muffler that you can simply purchase at any muffler parts store. You are correct in that the can itself is made by magnaflow, the same company that makes a lot of universal mufflers, but the there is more to the WRX system.

Turbo xs designed their exhaust system in house and it is the product of an extensive amount of dyno testing, time, effort and R&D. The Turbo XS Exhaust systems are fabricated in AUS where TXS has its head quarters and the system is made to a strict set of specs.

The magna flow back box was chosen for its particular flow characteristics, and they are figured into the exhaust equasion. The results would simply not be the same if you acquired a generic mangaflow muffler and added it to your vehicle.

Although the name is not stamped on it, the muffler is unique and unmistakeable. Take a look at the pics of the system and pay special atention to the tip. It is very unlikely that you have to worry about being scammed in this manner.

Decibels at idle are not much different than stock with a high flow cat.

I sincerely hope that I have answered all of your questions, if you happen to have any more, please let me know.

Cheers,
