I LOVE IT!!!
I've had the TurboXS exhaust on my Scoobie for the past two months and the full system is amazing. They say it gives the WRX 30WHP and I don't doubt it. My next step is the TurboXS uppipe... they make quality product!!
I had the hi-flo on there, but decided to go w/ the straight pipe which did cause the check engine light to come on, but offered less resistance.
Put it this way: Last year stock I ran a 14.7, first time down the track this year w/ the TurboXs exhaust I ran a 14.11 and could have gone faster if I hadn't dialed in...
I have pics from the install you might be interested in, e-mail or IM me and I'll send them over
The shop I go to had great pricing as well, so if you're interested let me know
Good luck !!

Slightly louder... nothing too crazy. It's all about which muffler you go with, TurboXS uses MagnaFLo.. and it sounds great. I have a hi-flo cat collecting dust as it should be, I don't think I'm ever going to use it again, lol.
W/ the straight pipe the power gain was more noticable than the sound difference... in my opinion.
oh yea, and if you do run a straight pipe give the system 48 hours and your CEL will be on. FYI...

Very true on the CEL thing!! I have the racepipe on mine and I love the power gain and sound of it!!

quick question
The muffler offered by turbo xs that is magna flow is it the same exact muffler that magna flow puts out or is the turbo xs slightly different in sound? Does turbo xs have their name stamped into the exhaust? If you were buying an used turbo xs muffler axleback how would u know if it was a just a magna flow that you can get at autoparts store or the one offered by turbo xs? Also if i get the axle back and then plan to piece together a hole system from turbo xs what is the decibels at idle and say 4000 rpm. ? I heard alot of good thngs bout turbo xs. I had it narrowed downt o scoobysport or turbo xs.

A couple of things about the turbo xs muffler. It is important to understand that is not a muffler that you can simply purchase at any muffler parts store. You are correct in that the can itself is made by magnaflow, the same company that makes a lot of universal mufflers, but the there is more to the WRX system.
Turbo xs designed their exhaust system in house and it is the product of an extensive amount of dyno testing, time, effort and R&D. The Turbo XS Exhaust systems are fabricated in AUS where TXS has its head quarters and the system is made to a strict set of specs.
The magna flow back box was chosen for its particular flow characteristics, and they are figured into the exhaust equasion. The results would simply not be the same if you acquired a generic mangaflow muffler and added it to your vehicle.
Although the name is not stamped on it, the muffler is unique and unmistakeable. Take a look at the pics of the system and pay special atention to the tip. It is very unlikely that you have to worry about being scammed in this manner.
Decibels at idle are not much different than stock with a high flow cat.
I sincerely hope that I have answered all of your questions, if you happen to have any more, please let me know.

thanks world one
This did answer alot of my questions. I heard alot of good things about turboxs. do you have any idea of realistic figures for hp gains on just an axle back? Is it in the 5hp category? more or less? i plan on piecing together a nice turbo back. I wish i had the money to buy one straight out but family, house, and my rex payment come first with all other life expenditures. Thanks for your help.
Ps you mentioned that the decibel at idle is close to stock. If its a little louder that is better. but how is it when you get on her on say teh highway or a back road? I realize it will get louder as you add a downpipe, upipe, adn mid pipe, all i watn for now is to make the car meaner sounding and gain a little kick if i get any with just the axle back. once i start really opening up the exhaust that is where i could probably get 30or so whp like many sites claim. I did the intake silencer mo d and added a k and n drop in filter, with the addition of the muffler all i will have to do is piece the middle of the car together . it will be more time consuming but well worth the results.
