Here's how mine looks in the trim next to the cupholder. A dremel works great for cutting the plastic.

Yes, the alarm and keyless entry will not work while the timer counts down. There are instructions at www.scoobymods.com on how to fix them. It is very simple, just cut two wires. Only took me about 15 minutes to do.
Not sure if this thread is dead or not but just have a few questions. Just installed an apexi tt on my 03 and followed the directions on www.scoobymods.com. I cut the dark green wire at the alarm module and the wire at the parking brake. I am able to arm the factory alarm while the tt is running, but after the car shuts off I open the car door and no alarm sound. I have also seen instructions to run a the accesory wire to the module side of the alarm and also to the module side of the parking brake. Do i need to run these wires to get the alarm working with the tt.
thank you guys,

i must say i installed the hks turbo timer 1 and its gotta be the greatest thing ever. I just recently used it to time my 0-60 time my car is completely stock and i got a 6.53 not to shabby for a kid who can't drive stick to well yet. but it was very easy my friend kevin helped me out the only thing left taht i ahve to do to make it completed is cut the wire on the security system except we couldn't find it since he has an 03 and i have an 02 so the security system was in a different place but deffinitely worth the money

I have tried looking for the grey wire on the sensor module by e-brake but I can't find it. Theres a little thing with 3 wires comming off it, but no grey wire. Please help I'm going insane waiting for my turbo timer to count down every time so I can arm alarm. Thanks for your help.

I wrote a "how to install an HKS type 1 in your WRX" tutorial last year when I put mine in and no one seemed to care... I even sent it to the guys at scooby mods and they never put it up
I think it's really good... you can see where I installed my timer (in place of the ash tray)
the only thing it's missing (that I did after I installed it) is cutting the green and black wire in the keyless entry module so you can lock your doors while the car is still running instead of having to push the button on the door.
incase you're wondering: it's really easy just pull the lower dash off and above the fuse box there is a black box held up with one bolt. take the bolt off so you can get to it and clip the dark green and black wire in the main plug, tape off the ends and you're done. (be sure to leave some slack to connect it back to gether incase you ever want to undo it or clip the wrong one the first time)
