Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Too good to be true?

I wouldn't be the guinea pig. The old adage, you get what you pay for is always true, up to a point. I'm scared of Ebay crap, but who knows, it might work fine.

I think that the cheapest I'd go is the Helix stuff. $450 for a up/dp from www.gruppe-s.com with CEL fixes, and you already know that hundreds or thousands of WRX's are running that.

do a search here and on clubwrx for "erz". there are several write-ups. I haven't seen anything bad said about them yet. they seem to work just fine....no fitment problems, no leaks (assuming you instally it right), and expected power gains. the only drawback is the DP eliminates both cats. if that's not what you want then this isn't the pipe for you. You can probably get a muffler shop to cut it and weld a flange on it so you can use it with the stock cat and STILL pay less than most uppipes or downpipes alone.

you get what you pay for....but if you pay more than what you want is worth you're just an idiot ...its just a bunch of piping.

I will let everyone know how it does in my all stock but wheels, wagon!

uhmm, would it be against the law though? I still have my DP cat and stock exhaust.
I thought that the STi had a straight through uppipe as well?

If your car came with a cat in the UP (which it did) then removing said cat IS illegal. The STi was designed to pass smog without that cat (through the use of variable valve timing etc.) so theirs is legit.

there's a HUGE thread on this set of pipes on clubwrx.net. Everybody's pretty happy with this combo. Personally I decided to get the PDE uppipe (because of the mounting hardware for the lower heatshield) and a Helix Catted DP (because I'm in CA and I like passing SMOG) but I'd say the feedback on these things is coming about 90%+ positive. You may get a few more HP and TQ out of "Better" brand-name parts, but if your chouce if your choice is cheap parts like this or nothing at all, they're not bad at all....no fitment problems, no quality control issues. You may want to check out the thread.
