Call Gruppe-S for the studs. Their up-pipe had them included. Why did you loosen the motor mount? I just took off the right hand wheel, underbody shoud, and loosend the wheel well plastic. Could get to the up pipe perfectly. It is almost a good idea to the I/C hoses (Perrin, etc.) since it comes off anyway. A long process, but you feel so good afterwards, and your car sounds throatier.

P.S. Have beer to help you.

If you must, drink beer in moderation. I helped work on a Camaro while drinking beer and we ended up with extra bolts that we couldn't account for. Not very reassuring.

one day left

I called the suby dealer and he told me that the bolts on the uppipe are nut and bolts and not studs. Is this true? If so if I run into a problem I should be able to get any size that will fit thrue the holes right? Input is very welcome.

Thaks again,

Jay

The studs are standard M12x1.25 automotive studs....Poop Boiz....Autostoned...any autoparts place should have 'em...

The bolts are the same M12x1.25 and 30mm(or 40mm) length, IIRC

In case anyone needed instructions for installing their Uppipe. www.vishnutuning.com has instructions posted in their downloads section. They're pretty detailed. Just have to print them out!

Finished with instal

Well I did the instal and it went pretty well. I figured I would pop on and let everyone in on some things I found being I popped my UP/DP cherry so to speek.

1. Liquid Wrench is the bomb. I took the IC off and air box out the night befor and sprayed all the bolts down including the heat shield bolts.

2. I didn't see any reason to buy a $12. socket for the O2 bung. I just used my dremal and trimed the heat shield above and to the left.

3. Screw the EGT and use the resitor mod fix. (if anyone needs one I have 4 more)

4. Beer does soothe the beast. and get some of those Mechanics gloves, the ones with the plastic on the back of the hand....I was in Pain....

5. Creaper and Jack stands.

6. Some to drive you the the autoparts store for the one bolt that broak off or won't come out. I have to of the studs siez in the UP. If this happens don't freak just call for a ride and bring the pipe with you to sixe it. I can't remeber the size.

7. Don't for get to put the engine mount bolt back in.......I almost did. When you tighten everything just like you should always do a little to each bolt at a time, as to combat any leaks.

I hope this helps. Don't be affraid to do it as long as you have all the tools you need and just relax and take your time.

Now that said I did this to my 2002 REXWAGON and it has 52,000 miles on it. Diving this car is so much more fun now. The pull kicks ***. and so does the quicker spool. Not to mention the freakin cool sounds I now hear.

next upgrade EBC, and springs.
