Guys I was wondering if any of you have thought, heard, or possibly tried this exhaust setup.

What if you were to run a short length downpipe (Doesn't matter if bellmouth or twin dump) off the turbo (About 3 inches) and then weld on a universal (quiet) type muffler right off of this short piece of pipe?

You would have some noise (Because of the muffler), very little ehxaust restriction (Because of absence of many feet of piping - And no cats), and hence rapid spoolup.

Do you think this would work? The only problems I would see would be the cops (Not having a muffler on the back of your car where the stock exhaust cutout on the bumper is) and perhaps the exhaust gasses heating up the underbody of the car.
