Stoked on my new mods
Whats up guys? I'm just way stoked on the new mods I got for my car--
Old Mods:
Blitz Nur-Spec Catback Exhaust
K&N drop-in filter
Cobb Tuning Chip (Stage 1)
New Mods:
PDE uppipe
Cobb downpipe w/ high flow cat
Aps cold air intake (for noise)
Chip Reflash (Stage 2)
I had the shop do a before and after dyno-- but this was done when the engine was still hot, plus the reflash takes a few days to find the best ways to make power. Everyday, my car seems faster, so it probably has more power now than what the dyno says if I took another dyno now.
before: Max power: 209.8 whp @ 6400 rpm, Max Torque: 197.7 @ 4200 rpm
After: Max power: 227.6 whp @6200 rpm, Max Torque: 221.6
These mods make a great difference- I can't believe how fast my car is. I'm way happy that I finally got my exhaust all cleared out (it looks so sweet when you peek under the car- the exhaust goes all the way up the car!) The next mods I want are the APS front mount and blow off valve to complete their system.

Im no pro but would you think the upipe and downpipe alone would give atleast 25 hp? 18 hp sounds low, and I would think you actually picked up some more horses than the dyno shows. Do you have the Nurspec R? I have the same cat back (if its nurspec R) and I was planning on getting the same downpipe. After adding the downpipe did it make your exhaust allot louder and if so how much? I have to use the silencer because that cat back is too loud for my taste.

I have an exhaust set up sort of like that (up-pipe, downpipe, Blitz nur spec) but I also have a borla header.
The last thig I put on was the nur spec so I can't give you a before but I know that without the silencer my car is louder than most cars that leagally drive the streets

The exhaust sound is changed a little- but not really any louder. It's just a fuller sound-- the high flow cat is a little different from the stock filters and so there is a little difference in the noise as the exhaust leaves. By the way, Cobbs website says that tests show no difference in catted and non-catted. I drive w/out the silencer in my Blitz,(the one you have). Never had any trouble by the police, except for one time I was pulled over and a cop told me he was about to ask me if I had an aftermarket exhaust, but then he remembered that Subarus have loud exhausts "for four-bangers" --I just figure if any police officer asks me if its aftermarket- I'll tell him that WRX's come with theses things, also intercoolers and turbos. And if I do get a ticket I can put it in then to go see the enforcers. I wonder if changing the silencer in and out would mess with my chip--I'm sure only if left in for a long time, but I know small things do not require a reflash so it would probably be ok.
