STI V7 Red Intake Manifold?

Any difference in performance? or is it just a cosmetic piece?

Jon

Anyone care to elaborate?

I think that it's less restrictive and also cosmetic...also, there's something about the butterfly valve. Oh wait, I was the friend who told you that.

Seriously, I really don't think that it's less restrictive per se. The lack of the tumble generator valves does make it less restrictive, but may cause another cel (don't quote me on that, tho).

Dude, just call Ralph and see if he won't let you try his out. The TGVs are just there for cold start, they're not necessary for anything else.

it's purely cosmetic. the actual JDM STi doesn't have the tumble generator valves or TGV's. however, this is a seperate piece from the intake manifold itself. it actually lies beneath the intake manifold. you could actually eliminate them from the WRX and just replace the TGV's. yes it will be less restrictive, however, you will trigger a CEL. i'm not sure if you can get this code pulled. if you want to just have a STi intake manifold, i would just have it painted red. that's basically the same thing and cheaper.
