I plan on putting an STI TMIC in my 05 WRX next week along with the VF34, pinks and fuel pump. The question that I have is, do I have to get get an STI hoodscoop? I originally thought I did but then I noticed that foresters keep the same size hood scoop with the STI TMIC, the 06-07 wrx and sti have the same size hoodscoop and the 04-05 world rally car had a wrx hoodscoop. I understand that it will increase airflow but is it absolutely necessary?

you really don't need to ... just take off your wrx hoodscoop splitter.

 

u wont feel a difference but the bigger scoop might just help with more flow
